Our parent company plays the same couple of songs on hold

All the time. WTF? In this day of niche marketing, there must be a reason, there’s always a reason. Nothing is left to chance. People who have their asses whipped by Kim Carnes are 8% more likely to stay on hold, and 3% less likely to shoot up the office (in my case the +/- is actually about 5%) Perhaps these songs reduce the likelihood of leaving leftovers in the fridge for months on end.

How is it that you know what your own company's hold music is like? I've worked at the same place for nine years and have never heard the hold music, even though I heard its real computerized and irritating. Maybe that's because I never call work.
I think your company should add a third song. Possibly Supertramp. How about that one song that goes "Something, something in the picture show."
